How to use Purition

Purition is made using seeds and nuts, with additional protein provided by small amounts of triple filtered whey protein isolate from free range, grass fed, rBGH free British cows, or a combination of European grown plant protein. As such, Purition is gentle on the stomach and will not cause bloating. No need to add in extra fats (nut butters) to Purition, all the hard work is done for you.

How to use Purition


No such thing as a protein deficiency

There is no such thing as a protein deficiency as most adults in the western world eat more than the recommended level of protein in any one day. The problem is most of that protein is consumed in the evening and as the body cannot process more than 20-30g of protein at any one time this additional protein is wasted. Using a whole food source of protein like Purition at breakfast, or lunchtime, will help spread your protein consumption throughout the day, which is far more important than consuming a large amount of protein after exercise.

How to use Purition

Plant based protein powders

There is no getting away from it plain plant protein powders have very strong, earthy flavours and textures. If you are consuming a highly flavoured plant based protein powder it will contain colossal amounts of flavouring and sweetener. As well as gums and often powdered oils to make them drinkable. Again this level of added ‘non-food’ ingredients is not compatible with a truly healthy diet.


At Purition we do use small amounts of European grown plant proteins (from pea, rice and hemp) but instead of masking the flavour with lots of artificial flavourings and sweetener we embrace the earthy taste.


Here at Purition we believe the provenance of our ingredients is of great importance and never compromise your health by using synthetic or refined ingredients. Because we use real food ingredients we do not need to add synthetic vitamins and minerals because whole food ingredients are naturally nutritious.

How to prepare a Purition shake

Real food does not dissolve so using a blender is ideal. If you do need to use a shaker, just shake, leave to thicken for 5 minutes and shake again. It won't be as smooth as using a blender, but it will be just as delicious.

Get creative...

Blending with your favourite milk of choice, will make a delicious shake, but that's s just the start. Try adding berries, spinach, bananas, cinnamon or a drizzle of honey, have them warm on a cold day or you can even add the shakes to yoghurt for a snack.. the options are almost endless...

Can Purition be used during Pregnancy and Breastfeeding?

Yes, Purition is made from 100% wholefood natural ingredients so is perfectly safe if you’re an expectant mum or breastfeeding. In fact, Purition is a great way of making sure your own body is fuelled with essential nutrients whilst you deal with the demands of a newborn. It’s really simple and quick to prepare so even if you’re too tired to stand in the kitchen and cook a meal you can prepare a Purition shake in less than 30 seconds (and one handed if needs be!).

Is Purition Lactose Free?

The Original Purition is made with some whey protein isolate - which is super low in lactose.

To put it in context for you the average cup of tea with just a splash of milk will contain 160mg of lactose, there is less than 4mg of lactose in a serving of Original Purition. That's 15 times less lactose than you'd find in a cup of tea with a splash of milk! So it should not aggravate IBS or cause bloating.

Is Purition Gluten Free?

Yes all blends are certified gluten free and coeliac safe at less than 5 ppm.

Is Purition Certified Vegetarian or Vegan?

Yes, our Original blends, made with a little whey protein isolate, are certified Vegetarian.

Our Dairy Free Plant Based blends are made with Hemp or Pea, Rice and Hemp protein blend and are certified Vegan.

How many scoops should I use?

Generally we say 4 scoops (40g) for women and 5 scoops (50g) for men. However ladies if 40g is not keeping you satisfied until your next meal use 50g.

Can I make my shake with water?

To be honest we don’t think this is the best way to make or to enjoy your Purition shake. The natural ingredients contained in our blends work far better with milk or your favourite milk alternative.

To enjoy Purition at its best: Blend 40g of Purition with 250ml cold milk/ nut milk and drink straight away.

How should I prepare my shake? Should I use a shaker or blender?

We recommend preparing Purition in a blender. Real Food does not dissolve so we say blend it for best results. Blending will create a thick, smooth, creamy shake in seconds and is a great opportunity to throw in some berries or greens for even more nutrients.

When should I drink my shake?

Once blended consume immediately, your shake will continue to thicken. If left for a few hours it will become porridge like and you’ll need a spoon thanks to all the fibre.

Results are about consistently great nutrition, not some magic window before or after exercise. Great nutrition is about what get’s eaten in a 24 hour period. If you plan on using before exercise you’ll want to consume it at least 1-2 hours before exercise. If you’re going to consume it after exercise wait until you get back home or the office so you can prepare it properly and most importantly enjoy.

How many servings are in each bag?

That depends, each 500g bag contains 10 x 50g servings or 12 x 40g servings, if using once a day, 5-6 times a week, that’s enough for two weeks. Many of our customers will add a half serving to non-sweetened full-fat Greek or natural yoghurt, porridge or even their regular green smoothies.

How should I store Purition?

Reseal the bag after use and keep it in a cool, dark cupboard. You don’t need to keep it in the fridge. Decanting it into a sealed jar or container, and keeping it on the side next to your blender is handy for easy access if using it everyday!

Can I try your flavours before I buy a full bag?

How is Purition different from other protein shakes on the market?

That’s simple in two words REAL FOOD. Junk-free fitness food means your body recognises every ingredient. No gums, cheap fillers, thickeners, artificial anything or flavourings. Just simple wholesome food ingredients that support your “clean eating” and fitness goals.

How is Purition different from other meal replacement products on the market?

Again that’s simple in two words REAL FOOD. Purition is not a meal replacement or supplement, it’s made with  REAL FOOD - a meal in a glass. There is a BIG difference. Traditional “meal replacements” are made of sugar, artificial sweeteners, water, milk powder, thickeners, artificial flavourings and often chemically synthesised vitamins and minerals. They are industrial concoctions of highly refined ingredients that happen to contain very few calories precisely because they contain no real food.

Purition will never be a supplement, because it provides all the nutrition you need from real food ingredients (seeds & nuts) and is designed to only ever replace a meal, with a meal (albeit a perfectly balanced one!) How should I use the shake for best weight loss results?

Have one shake a day for the first week (breakfast is good) so your body can adjust to the high fibre. Then if convenient have a shake for both breakfast and lunch, Monday - Friday.  In the evenings have a healthy, balanced home-cooked dinner that includes protein and as many vegetables - preferably colourful, leafy vegetables that are grown above ground - that you can manage.  Aim to eat just three meals a day and drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Not only can you lose weight with this method, you can develop healthy eating habits that last a lifetime.

 

How soon will my order arrive after purchasing?

Providing your order is placed before 3pm Monday to Thursday, you will receive your order next day.

Our couriers will text you 1 hour before delivery to make sure you are in and can sign for the parcel. If not you can ask them to deliver it tomorrow, leave your parcel in a safe place, with a neighbour or drop it at one of their 1000’s of pickup points nationwide. You can’t get it delivered at a specific time (the world does not revolve around you), they can’t change the delivery address or deliver at the weekend without incurring significant extra cost. If you live in a flat we’d recommend you have your parcel delivered to work.

Orders placed on Friday before 3pm will be delivered on the following Monday, any orders made over the weekend (Saturdays or Sundays) will be shipped out on Monday for delivery on Tuesday.

Any Discovery Box orders (placed Monday-Friday) will be shipped out same day by Royal Mail 1st Class, this normally takes up to 48 hours to be delivered.
