Is Purition IBS friendly?

Yes! Purition can be a great addition to a healthy, balanced diet for most people living with IBS.

We believe that including Purition as part of a balanced diet may help to lessen the symptoms associated with IBS. But, of course, as with any medical condition, there are some things to take into consideration.

As a first step, it's vital to get a medical diagnosis of IBS and to rule out other medical conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), coeliac disease or to find any underlying food intolerances.

For some, the high level of fibre in Purition can take a few days to a week to adjust to. We'd recommend having half a serving (20g, instead of 40g) of Purition per day or every other day for the first week or so and building up to a full serving over time.

Purition is suitable if you're following a low FODMAP diet (when prescribed by a dietitian for a short period of time). It's also certified gluten-free.

If your GP or dietitian made specific recommendations for you to follow to manage your diagnosed IBS, please refer to them for further advice. It is also vital that you consult them before making any changes to your diet or embarking on a weight-loss journey.
