Kristian Morgan Ultra Runner Appalachian Trail

We are proud to be partnered with, and fuelling the inspiring British Ultra Runner Kristian Morgan as he sets out to break the speed world record for completing the Appalachian Trail. That’s 2189 miles across 14 American States, all in under 40 Days!

Starting on 1st July 2019, Kristian will be running northbound from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mount Katahdin in Maine, covering 55 miles a day which is around 15 marathons a week. Put into perspective, a typical hiker takes 5-7 months to complete the Appalachian trail and only a quarter of attempts reach the finishing line. So this is no mean feat.


As an ultra endurance athlete, Kristian will need to consume the same amount of protein as a bodybuilder (and twice as much as a sedentary person) to help repair his muscles after running. This is where Purition comes in use. In addition to his usual breakfast and lunch, Kristian will also be having two smoothies a day to up his calories, natural fats and protein. The low carb content will encourage his body to use fat stores for fuel, meaning his energy will last for longer on the trails.
