The Beginners Guide
to Purition’s Core Ingredients: Almonds
Behind every single one of Purition’s key core ingredients, is a great nutritional source that has been carefully considered.
At Purition we know the importance of keeping an eye on what you eat, especially if you have a nutritional based goal like healthy eating, losing weight, improving digestion, weight gain, reversing a diet related health issue like type 2 diabetes or supplementing a vegetarian or vegan diet, and even fuelling your training.
Knowing what you eat and why is incredibly important.
As ground almonds are included in all Purition recipes, we thought we would help you get clued up on this great ingredient. Almonds are low in sugar, packed with energy from healthy unsaturated whole food fats (the good fats).
We love almonds so much we even have an Almond blend. We’ve gently roasted the almonds before grinding them to accentuate the almond flavour which means we don’t need to use any flavourings, and that’s good because well, flavourings are not food and we are all about simple real food ingredients.
We also have a specific delicious Purition almond blend.
What are the health benefits of almonds?
Below are just some of the health benefits of almonds, which, when added to a healthy balanced meal, can be a fantastic source of nutrition:
- Highest content of fibre than any other nut
- Highly anti-inflammatory
- High in unsaturated ‘good’ fats
- Contains proactive nutrients, including calcium, magnesium, Vitamin E. These are all great for maintaining healthy hair, skin and nails
- Almonds are great for brain health, as they’re high in magnesium, are a great source of folate, thiamine and niacin, which all support normal psychological function
- Gluten free – as with every single Purition product and ingredient, almonds are gluten free so coeliac sufferers who are still looking for a delicious nutritional meal can enjoy Purition as much as everyone else
- Almonds can help lower blood pressure – this is because they contain a high amount of magnesium. Research suggests that a deficiency in magnesium is linked to high blood pressure
A great low carb, healthy snack
A good amount of fibre in your diet is no bad thing, and almonds are high in both protein and fibre. Here at Purition we pride ourselves for being a great source of protein, and almonds are just another ingredient that confirm this!
We carefully consider each ingredient, which is why we selected almonds from California, so we don’t compromise on taste or quality. These are then ground at our HQ, and mixed into every single blend.

A note on the future
Purition always strive to find the best sourced ingredients, and recent reports are suggesting that almond milk production may be detrimental to the honey bee population, which is why we are currently on the hunt for bee friendly certified almonds.
Where do almonds come from?
Our almonds are specially sourced and grown in California.
Can you eat almonds when pregnant?
There is no research to suggest that almonds should be avoided by pregnant mothers. It has been suggested that tree nuts such as almonds should be avoided as they increase the chance of nut allergy, but no evidence supporting this claim has been found.
