How do you take your Omega-3's?

Omega-3 fatty acids are important for our health and are used to build and maintain cells within our body but the body is unable to make them so we have to get them from our diet. Omega 3 is found in oily fish, plants and nuts and seeds.

When we think of Omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFA’s) we usually think of fish or fish oil supplements as the only answer. However they are not the only source and since appreciable levels of Omega-3 are only found in oily fish (not popular in the UK) and there are well known sustainability and processing issues with the extraction of fish oils, leaving them prone to damage.

The benefits of Purition and the Omega-3

It’s time to introduce Omega-3 (ALA) Alpha Linolenic Acid from the seeds and nuts found in Purition because not everyone likes fish and what about sustainability and vegetarians?

Purition is naturally rich with plant based Omega-3 (ALA) because of the wholefood ingredients we use especially Flax and Chia.

Your body can convert Omega-3 ALA into Omega-3 EPA & DHA however larger quantities are required. The European Food Standards Agency (EFSA) says 2g of Omega-3 ALA daily is enough to contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels, on average Purition contains 1.85g per serving.

Omega-3 is also known as polyunsaturated fatty acid and is important for brain health, growth and development and heart health.
