Alcohol free days made easy with Purition

So recently, everyone has been talking about alcohol being the direct cause of several different types of cancers.

It’s not the best news for anyone but particularly those of us who look forward to winding down for the weekend with a glass of wine, beer or other preferred tipple.

So, what exactly are the health experts saying?

Well, according to a new report published in the scientific journal Addiction, there is now enough credible evidence to say that drinking is a direct cause of cancer with it being linked to cancer of the oropharynx, larynx, oesophagus, liver, colon, rectum and breast.

And, apparently even those people consuming low amounts of wine, beer or other alcoholic drinks are putting themselves at risk.

Not surprisingly the research has sparked renewed calls for regular drinkers to take alcohol-free days and for wider spread campaigns to better educate the public.

So, here at Purition HQ we thought we’d do a little bit to help too.

For those of you keen to take on board the latest advice we’ve prepared our very own mojito cocktail recipe for you to try.

The good news is - there’s not a drop of rum in sight so it’s perfect for one of your alcohol free days!
To make our Purition Mojito Smoothie you’ll need:
1 cup of kale, shredded

1 cup of pineapple, cubed

¼ cup of fresh mint leaves

Juice of ½ lime

40g of Purition Pistachio

250ml coconut milk
Blend all the ingredients together in a high speed blender or with a handheld blender and enjoy with a slice of lime.

It’s perfect for the summer months and at the same time you’ll be loading your body full of high quality vitamins and minerals.
